Dear friends and family,
Recently, I lost a really good friend, Patrick Fleis. We have been friends since basically the first day of law school. He was so incredibly kind--I'm not sure I've known a more generous spirit. When we were in school, he lived in a crappy apartment by the Rave (25th and Wisconsin). He would leave hats and mittens out, and in his unlocked car, so that any homeless person needing some warmth could grab them. He would even invite them inside to stay at his apartment, or if they were uncomfortable with that, then in his car. So, in his honor (and with his wife's blessing), I am organizing a drive for Street Angels (https://streetangelsmke.org/), an organization in Milwaukee that helps those experiencing unsheltered homelessness.
