All donations will go directly to Street Angels, a non-profit homeless outreach organization in Milwaukee, WI.
Street Angels is there to provide support, nourishment, seasonal gear such as clothing and blankets, advocacy, and hope to those who find themselves unsheltered in Milwaukee. Their mobile outreach takes place 3/nights/week and is currently serving an average of 301 people each outreach night. In addition, their new mobile shower trailer program, Showers of Hope, is available in the community 2/days/week providing dignity and access to the very basics of good health- good hygiene. Since 2016, Street Angels has served over 125,000 meals, connected with 3,500 people experiencing unsheltered homelessness, and was able to connect over 800 people who were completely disconnected from services to permanent housing programs.
Please join me in my effort to assist Street Angels in combatting the effects of homelessness & hunger in the Milwaukee community. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference! Every dollar raised will go directly toward sustaining and expanding Street Angels programs to ensure nourishment and warmth are provided to those experiencing homelessness this Season.
I am not afraid or ashamed to share that I myself was homeless on the streets of Milwaukee, through rain, shine, snow, extreme heat and cold. I know the struggle and hopeless emotions that one endures while faced with the challenges of not having a home, food, warmth, clean clothes, a shower to be clean, and the judgement from people in our communities. Valuing our communities and ALL people that are in it is important. I cannot express how scary this was for me when I was faced with these social injustices. Experiencing these challenges in my life I myself found who I truly was and from losing everything I had, humbled me. Coming out of this hard time I felt that I was also leaving so many behind. It breaks my heart, but I value the lives of everyone, and I made it my own choice to attend school, to help those in need and to educate myself how to do so! Today, I am almost done with my first semester of my associate's degree in human services and cannot wait to be even more involved with helping give social justice. Please help US come together to save life's this winter and bring HOPE for all that are unsheltered! Not all who wander are lost!
